Use Windows Built-In Tools to solve this condition and increase performance by following these steps:
1. Single click "My Computer," right click "C" drive, click properties, click tools
2. Highlight your system drive, (usually C) then click defragment
3. While you are there, on the General tab, you have the option to Clean the Hard Drive.
4. Click disk cleanup and select all items in the window.
